Description

Without the bulk of the headphone reeling device it could be made very thin, in fact it was the smallest model in the range of that year.

This slim, cassette case sized model used similar mechanical arrangements to the WM-106. Without the bulk of the headphone reeling device it could be made very thin, in fact it was the smallest model in the range of that year.

As well as the features of the WM-10 (auto reverse with LED direction indicator, Dolby B NR, locking cassette door, normal/chrome/metal tape compatibility), the WM-503 also included the "Mega bass" loudness system, which was controlled by a three-position switch (norm/mid/max). Battery power came from a special rechargeable cell which was mounted internally (an improvement over the previous WM-102) and was charged in a “charger station” that was supplied with each machine.

Despite being an expensive model positioned near the top of the range, the WM-503 did not escape the fad for silly writing of this period any more successfully than the lowly WM-B10. In this case it said "Mega bass dynamic bass boost for an unbelievably "live" sound" on the cassette door.Via Walkman Central
